Little Book "The Easy" Blended Straight Whiskey
Little Book is a yearly expression from a young scion of Whiskey royalty - Frederick Booker Noe. Better known as Freddie, he was nicknamed Little Book by Jim Beam master distiller, Booker Noe. Little Book, the whiskey, is a blended american whiskey, bottled straight from the barrel, uncut and unfiltered. The Easy is the first release in the Little Book series and is a blend of 13-year-old corn whiskey, rye and malt whiskey aged 5.5 years each, and 4-year-old bourbon. No word on the mashbill, but the 13 year old corn whiskey dominates with a grassy bourbon feel, typical of Beam bourbon, and the malt rounds it out with a nice, cereal flavor with a very slight hint of spice from the rye at the end. Bottled at 120.48 proof this is a surprisingly easy to drink whiskey with a thick, viscous mouth feel and a nice finish. Best thing about it, in Freddie's words, "I would have it neat, or add a cube of ice sometimes to just see how it melts and changes the whiskey". Couldn't agree more.
