Macallan Edition No. 3
For the highly anticipated third release in this annual limited edition series, The Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno, called on the world’s most respected aroma expert to co-create Edition No. 3. Master Perfumer Roja Dove provided his remarkable expertise to chart distinctive aromas in The Macallan. Bob Dalgarno then utilized Rojas’ articulation to select dominant flavor notes from hand-selected casks to shape the final character of Edition No.3.
Following the successful release of Edition No. 1 and No. 2, Edition No. 3 continues the diverse story of The Macallan’s unwavering obsession with its oak casks. Drawn from a combination of European and American oak casks, the whisky presents a sweet and fruity character. It balances a heavier base derived from the Tevasa cooperage sherry casks with the citrus notes of the Hudosa cooperage sherry casks. Light vanilla flavors are derived from the ex-Bourbon casks and florals and fresh cut oak from the European and American oak refill casks.
