Transcontinental Rum Line Panama 2011
Rum has always been shipped to Europe for numerous reasons - sailors enjoying a tipple and traders making a pretty penny are a couple of them. The Transcontinental Rum Line or TCRL takes inspiration and pays homage to these adventurous voyages of rum casks between the New World and the Old.
Transcontinental Rum Line Panama 2011 is distilled from fermented molasses in column stills close to the Panama Canal. After 6 years in a bourbon barrel the rum is transported to Europe for another additional year of aging and finally bottled at 86 proof. Somewhat uniquely for Panamanian bottlings, this rum displays a gentle touch with delicate oak tones that lead to a rush of banana and tropical fruit that delight the palate.
